Overview: 

The Financial Data Sales Specialist will play a pivotal role in driving revenue growth at our challenger scale-up. You will sell our innovative B2B financial data product(s) to new and existing clients, across global real estate & infrastructure finance. 

You will be responsible for identifying and prospecting potential clients and opportunities for growth at existing clients, nurturing relationships, understanding their specific data needs, and closing deals to achieve sales targets. You will own an exciting pipeline of investors, fund managers, banks, law firms and other service providers.

Please note that although the location is hybrid, this role requires the ability to frequently attend in-person client meetings in London.

Realfin is the London-based global real assets data and research specialist. Realfin combines machine learning, technology, and expert analysts in real estate and infrastructure finance to empower institutional investors, fund managers, lenders and service providers with better data for robust decision-making. Realfin is a chosen data provider to World Bank Group and official market data partner to Global Infrastructure Investor Association (GIIA).

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Prospecting and Lead Generation: Identify and research potential clients. Use cold calling, email outreach and social media to generate leads and build a robust sales pipeline. Map out the decision-makers and influencers at a potential client firm and plan an effective, tailored and personalised pitch.
  2. Consultative Selling: Engage with prospects to understand their business challenges and objectives. Demonstrate a deep understanding of our data solutions and how they can address the specific needs of each client. Provide tailored solutions and recommendations to drive value for their businesses.
  3. Relationship Building: Cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders, including C-suite executives and decision-makers. Act as a trusted advisor by offering insights and support throughout the sales process and beyond. Arrange routine in-person meetings at leads’ offices to build relationship.
  4. Product Demonstrations and Presentations: Conduct engaging, personalised product demos and presentations to showcase the features, benefits, and capabilities of the Realfin platform. Clearly articulate value propositions, and address any questions raised by prospects.
  5. Negotiation and Closing: Lead negotiations to secure favorable terms and agreements. Overcome objections and address any barriers to closing deals. Work closely with other internal stakeholders to finalize contracts and ensure a smooth transition to implementation.
  6. Sales Reporting and Forecasting: Diligently maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and deal progress using our CRM.

Qualifications:

  • Self-motivated and results-driven with a passion for driving business growth.
  • At least 4 years’ experience and success in sales, ideally within SaaS, fintech or financial information services.
  • Demonstrable track record of successful selling into B2B organisations.
  • A strong understanding of sales best practices in prospecting, lead qualification, and deal closure.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

About you:

  • You are familiar with and enjoy financial markets as a subject (you read publications like the FT or Bloomberg)
  • You enjoy identifying leads from scratch who you believe will benefit from the products and services you’re proposing.
  • You understand ‘spray-and-pray’ is dead and practice deep research on leads to hyper-personalise your pitch
  • You are used to enterprise B2B sales cycles 
  • You enjoy engaging with leads on the phone and in person to uncover painpoints and needs
  • You are proactive and have a bias for action
  • You have a knack for technology, CRMs and marketing platforms and understand the importance of day-to-day updates
  • You are intellectually curious and keen to learn; you adopt jargon and concepts unfamiliar to you quickly
  • You are a self-starter comfortable with autonomy, and get a kick out of startup culture.
