We have a fantastic new job opportunity for an Entertainment Technology and Production Lecturer with a creative and innovative approach to teaching entertainment technology and production.
Working as an Entertainment Technology and Production Lecturer you will join the organisations innovative staff team delivering industry leading courses. Applicants should hold a degree in a relevant field or have equivalent professional experience and teaching contexts from both a theory and practice perspective.
As the Entertainment Technology and Production Lecturer you will undertake teaching delivery and assessment across the organisations specialist qualifications and courses.
The organisation is looking for an enthusiastic, new staff member with a can do attitude to join the exciting and rapidly expanding team at the Academy. You will also be expected to contribute to engagement with schools, colleges and recruitment activities.
Your duties as a Entertainment Technology and Production Lecturer will include:
Develop a standing as a scholar and /or practitioner in your field
Engage in subject professional and pedagogy research as required to support teaching activities
Teaching and Organisation and Support of Teaching
Design, delivery and teaching of classes, projects, and other learning activities
Provision of academic and personal tutorial guidance and support to students
Quality Assurance, Review, and Programme Development
Contribute to the annual review and quality assurance processes of the courses and activities in the Academy
Ensure that the quality of teaching is of the highest standard
Work with colleagues across the Academy to ensure the highest possible standards of student experience in terms of:
Course promotion (provision of material, contribution to open days and other recruitment activities on and off-site)
Learning support
Disability support (only in respect of signposting to students and staff how appropriate professional support can be accessed, ensuring learning materials/delivery are accessible.)
Ensure that students are appropriately supported and provided with timely and constructive guidance for their academic development and pastoral care
Professional experience of Entertainment Technology and Production
A primary specialism and demonstrable experience in at least one of the following areas within Production for the stage and/or screen:
Production Management
Staging and Rigging
Lighting Technologies
Live Sound Technologies
Audio Visual Technologies
Familiarity with contemporary live event performance and production and their cultural, social and industry contexts
A research interest in live events, and related practices and technologies
A range of skills in teaching, presentation, and the operational management of learning
Commitment to pastoral and academic support of students
Postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline
Post Graduate Teaching qualification (PGCHE) or HEA fellowship (FHEA) or a willingness to undertake such a qualification within two years
Recent experience of working in a technical or design role in the Live Events or Broadcast Industries
Virtual Production

Networking and control systems
Visualisation and Computer Aided Design
Familiarity with international and alternative developments in live event production
Postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline
Experience of teaching at post-compulsory or undergraduate level
Familiarity with developments in learning and teaching in vocational higher education
