Role Description

Location(s): We operate a hybrid working model, the role can be based at any of our offices (Leeds, Birmingham, Bradford, Exeter) combined with working from client locations and home. You may be required to travel to client offices 2-3 days a week.
Sector: Predominantly working within the Water industry but may cover wider utilities, infrastructure, and industrial clients.
Qualifications: Degree qualified within Mechanical Engineering.
Skills and experience:

  1. Water Industry or wider utilities experience.
  2. Knowledge and understanding of water and sewage treatment processes and associated equipment/systems.
  3. Knowledge of or participation in HAZOPS, SWIFTS, design reviews etc.
  4. Commercial awareness of clients and factors that affect the project and impacts on Aqua Consultants.
  5. Leading and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
  6. Experience of projects from feasibility to outline and detailed design.
  7. Production of calculations e.g., hydraulic pump calculations, screens etc.
  8. Production of schedules, documents, reports, drawings, datasheets etc.
  9. Degree qualified within mechanical engineering.
  10. Chartered Engineer or working towards chartership.
  11. Onsite experience would be preferable.
  12. CAD skills would be an advantage.
  13. Knowledge of WIMES and other industry standards
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

*Please note this is not an exhaustive list but gives a flavor of the work to be undertaken*
This is a consultant role and it is likely the post holder will be seconded into one of Aqua's clients on a part-time or full-time basis on an occasional or permanent basis.
Key responsibilities include;

  1. Leading or coordinating feasibility, outline and detailed design projects.
  2. Tendering and developing fee bids.
  3. Design management and coordination of multi-discipline projects/teams.
  4. Coordinating project resources.
  5. Leading/conducting site visits as and when required.
  6. Liaising with internal stakeholders, clients and suppliers.
  7. Support junior engineers with development and potential mentoring.
  8. Production of required deliverables to time, cost, and quality.
  9. Providing technical guidance and solutions on projects and assisting other engineers.
  10. Developing and delivering innovative solutions for clients.
  11. Checking and reviewing of documents.
  12. Developing smarter ways of working through new tools, techniques etc.
  13. Maintaining personal development and CPD.
  14. Supporting the Aqua family Mission 25 goals for future growth of the company.
  15. Potential line management.
