A dynamic startup that focuses on providing innovative solutions to the eCommerce sector and beyond is looking for a highly skilled and driven Head of Engineering to join their growing team.

They focus on user experience, scalability, and customer satisfaction when developing digital software solutions that facilitate safe and effective online transactions. Their platform is made to build connected workflows that make it easy for different eCommerce companies with different systems and data sources to operate together, increasing the dependability and efficiency of end-to-end automation.

In your role as Head of Engineering, you will oversee and direct the engineering team and take a leading role in the development team's everyday operations. In order to ensure the delivery of superior software and the timely completion of the project, your position involves offering the engineering team technical leadership, mentoring, and strategic direction.

Key responsibilities as Head of Engineering:

  • Driving architecture towards a cloud-first strategy with modern event-driven architecture.
  • Leading the design and implementation of distributed systems.
  • Experience understanding requirements from a Product and Business perspective to translate into a tangible engineering roadmap.
  • Responsible for overseeing the successful delivery across Web, Mobile and Native.
  • Advocating modern engineering best practice throughout the team.

Desired Skills:

  • Come from a software engineering background
  • Architecture and system design
  • Experience scaling engineering capabilities.
  • Effective team management.
  • Current stack is Java, Scala or Kotlin orientated with JS on the frontend, but not essential.
  • TDD/BDD
