Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) has an exciting opportunity for a Casualty Claim Examiner to join our dynamic and expanding Claims team in London. The individual will be responsible for coordinating the adjustment of a variety of Lead and Follow Casualty claims across the portfolio. This is an opportunity to work within a highly collaborative team environment dedicated to best in class claims handling. The position provides an opportunity to handle claims from a range of industries and work with other markets on co-insured claims. Managing claims arising from a growing Casualty book of business. Whilst predominantly UK EL, PL & Products Liability, this will include international claims across our General Liability, Construction and Energy Team.
Proactively investigate and handle claims from first notice of loss through ultimate resolution while advising internal stakeholders and meeting with clients and brokers as required.
Negotiate settlement of third-party claims with solicitors and make timely payments upon agreement.
Serve as a technical resource by mentoring other claims professionals and sharing technical knowledge related to Casualty Claims
Keeping abreast of Legal and Regulatory developments
Prepare reports, accurately set reserves within handling authority, or make claim recommendations concerning reserve changes above authority.
Should have capability of handling a variety of liability claims, including UK personal injury and third-party property damage.
London Market insurance experience dealing with Lead and Follow claims.
A minimum 3 years of Casualty claim handling experience in UK and additional jurisdictions or matching equivalency.
