Life Science People are working with a pioneering biotechnology firm equipped with a ground-breaking proprietary computational platform tailored to revolutionise drug discovery. They’re looking for a Principal AI Scientist/Engineer to take their cutting-edge platform technology to the next level. The role will focus on, AI-driven innovations across the board, supporting the implementation of the next generation of their computational drug discovery and siRNA platforms. Location: London-based (need to be onsite 4 days a week) Role:

  • Responsibility for co-developing and implementing cutting-edge in-house AI capabilities and infrastructure primarily in the domain of NLP.
  • Responsibility for software and data engineering projects and development/maintenance of computational platform infrastructure to support AI-driven drug discovery.
  • Enhancing platform engineering solutions to aid bioinformaticians, computational biologists, chemists, and analysts in utilising AI tools for exploring and visualising internal and external data.
Requirements:
  • Experience with NLP and Large Language Models.
  • High level programming skills in languages such as Java, C/C++, R & Python.
  • Knowledge and experience of SOA NLP APIs & ML/Deep Learning frameworks.
  • Experience translating user requirements into workflow designs/specifications.
  • Skilled in constructing and refining data processing pipelines including workflow management technologies and databases (e.g. Nextflow/Nextflow Tower, SQL/NoSQL).
  • Experience with cloud native technologies such as Docker & Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of cloud environments (AWS preferred).
Preferred requirements:
  • Experience with AI/ML applied to the Life Sciences.
  • Understanding of data management techniques for large-scale scientific data sets.
  • Experience with graph databases.
