Sharp has an excellent new opportunity for a Software Engineer to join the Development team in Wakefield

Hybrid working - office and home.

The successful candidate will join a small team of software engineers working on new and established Sharp UK line of business applications using the latest Microsoft .NET technologies including Blazor. The software engineer will work collaboratively with other team members and business colleagues in an agile environment to develop software solutions that meet the evolving needs of the business.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and test software solutions that meet business needs.
  • Utilise a range of technologies and languages including .NET/ASP.NET Core, C#, XUnit, Entity Framework Core, T-SQL/SQL Server, JavaScript, HTML, CSS.
  • Deploy code changes using Git source control and DevOps mechanisms.
  • Deploy database schema changes and support maintenance of application databases.
  • Ensure quality of code by following established coding standards and engaging in code review processes.
  • Understand and collaboratively refine software requirements to ensure solutions meet business needs.
  • Communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders at varying levels of technical expertise.
  • Support production applications by troubleshooting issues and fixing bugs.

Personal Specification

The ideal candidate for this role will have 2 or more years professional experience of developing web applications using Microsoft ASP.NET Core, C#, Entity Framework and using unit testing techniques. Experience with Blazor would be a significant advantage.
