About the Role Our client, a leading global financial services institution, is building a new platform using the latest technologies and modern architecture. As a Software Engine er, you will join a newly formed team working closely with AWS experts and senior engineers. You’ll contribute to the design, development, and testing of software, while gaining exposure to cloud-native practices and engineering excellence. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow your skills while helping shape the next generation of the organisation’s technology landscape. Key Responsibilities Contribute to the design, development, and testing of high-quality software across the team. Build and maintain back-end services and APIs in .NET C#, with a focus on cloud-based distributed architecture. Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using AWS CDK (Python preferred) to automate cloud deployments. Apply best practices for coding standards, automated testing (especially unit testing), and CI/CD. Collaborate with Business Analysts, QA Engineers, and Project Managers to deliver solutions that meet business needs. Actively participate in agile ceremonies and foster an agile, collaborative mindset within the te am.Support system design discussions and engage in conversations around target architecture. Assist with estimation, planning, and prioritisation, challenging requirements and proposing solutions. Diagnose and resolve software issues quickly to minimise business disruption. Contribute to modernisation and simplification initiatives, helping evolve systems toward target architecture. Maintain accurate documentation of code, processes, and configurations. Demonstrate “T-shaped” skills by contributing across the full development lifecycle and supporting colleagues’ development. What You’ll Bring Essential Skills & Experience: 3+ years’ experience as a Full Stack, Frontend, or Backend Engineer in a professional environment. Strong proficiency in TypeSc ri pt, R ea ct, R edux, and React Query. Solid knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, and modern JavaScript frameworks (React). Familiarity with RESTful APIs and GraphQL. Experience with CSS frameworks (e.g., Tailwind). Understanding of version control (Git) and cross-browser compatibility. Proficiency in backend programming with TypeScript and/or another OOP language (C# or Java). Preferred: Professional experience with C# (.NET 8+). Experience working in platform teams delivering reusable services across multiple agile projects. Ability to collaborate with BAs/POs to clarify requirements and constructively challenge solutions. Experience with regulatory-driven projects. Knowledge of financial markets, trading systems, or OTC products. Contributions to open-source projects.
