National Highways have an excellent opportunity for a Business Services Team Leader to join our Traffic Orders team in the Operations Orders Team. This role focuses on the preparation and promotion of Statutory Orders, Notices and Agreements, delivered under the appropriate legislative framework, in order to safely maintain and improve traffic flows on the Strategic Road Network, and to deliver improvements that support economic growth and local communities.
The role can be based at either our Manchester or Birchwood office. However, if based at Birchwood, the role will require travel to our Manchester office.
Manage the delivery of timely and accurate Traffic Regulation Orders to support effective, safe and efficient delivery of the Routine and Scheme Programmes, to time, quality, and cost.
Deal effectively with objections received in relation to Statutory Orders, and organise and attend Public Local Inquiries, where necessary.
Deliver timely and accurate financial reconciliation ensuring that National Highways is receiving good value for money from its Statutory Advertising provider.
Managing the preparation of Third-Party Agreements, Orders and Notices under the Highways Act 1980 and Acquisition of Land Act 1981 ensuring that they are delivered on time and in line with defined procedures and standards.
Enable and support effective information management including the maintenance of documents and records in accordance with National Highways Policies and Procedures and legal requirements.
Lead, motivate and develop team in providing proactive and flexible support to time and quality; build capability to meet developing business needs and improve resilience.
Manage the effective application of consistent working practices and procedures, ensuring deployment of resources according to priorities, adapting work methods to organisational changes to continually improve delivery and performance to provide a high quality, accurate and timely service to meet business and customer needs.
Experience in using relevant MS Office software and other related tools to enable production and maintenance of a range of complex documents and spreadsheets.
Good understanding of staff performance and line manager responsibilities
Ability to research a range of complex legal issues and make decisions based on this.
