SEND Teaching Assistant needed for a Primary SEND school in Nuneaton

Do you have experience working with learning disabilities?

A primary SEND school in Warwickshire are seeking a strong and confident SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis. The school is a specialist setting for young people with moderate to severe learning disabilities, including some with medical conditions. Some students are highly anxious and require a calm and predictable environment to access their education.

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will be part of a small team assisting a class teacher in delivering lessons to students, as well as providing support outside of the classrooms, while students are in school. Your roles will include, 1:1 work, work in small groups, monitoring the school during lunches and breaks etc.

Experience in working with special needs (MLD, SLD, ASD)

* Minimum 6 months’ experience working with children and young people

* Experience of using communication aids such as British Sign Language, Makaton or PECS is advantageous but not essential.

* Will be kind, caring and patient when dealing with children who require specialist support.
