On behalf of our awesome client, we are looking for a dynamic and experienced Head of Engineering to lead a high-performing team in delivering cutting-edge solutions to support their rapidly growing operations.

Role Overview:

As the Head of Engineering, you will lead the design, development, and implementation of complex technical systems across multiple projects. You will be responsible for setting the technical vision, leading cross-functional teams, and ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of all systems.

This is a high-impact role where you’ll be shaping the future of mission-critical infrastructure, working in a fast-paced, forward-thinking environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of systems engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.
  • Define and implement the overall systems engineering strategy and roadmap in alignment with the company’s goals.
  • Oversee the end-to-end design, development, and delivery of scalable systems architecture to support business growth.
  • Collaborate with product, operations, and IT teams to ensure systems are aligned with broader strategic objectives.
  • Manage and optimize the lifecycle of systems, ensuring security, compliance, and risk management best practices.
  • Drive continuous improvement and systems automation to enhance operational efficiency and system performance.
  • Provide leadership on technology trends, making data-driven decisions to integrate emerging technologies and best practices.
  • Develop and monitor KPIs for systems performance, reliability, and scalability.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a senior systems engineering leadership role, with a strong track record of managing large-scale technical infrastructure.
  • Extensive expertise in systems architecture, networking, and cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, etc.).
  • Strong technical background in Linux, Windows, and virtualized environments.
  • Experience in automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or similar.
  • Knowledge of IT security, compliance, and governance standards.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills with experience guiding cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, business-focused strategies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make critical decisions in high-pressure environments.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work closely with C-level executives.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience within the telecommunications, fibre infrastructure, or utilities sectors is a plus.
  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect, Cisco, Microsoft, etc.).
  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
