Locum Clinical Psychologist

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Band 7 Clinical Psychologist to join our dedicated team within the Paediatric Oncology department. In this crucial role, you will play a vital part in supporting the emotional wellbeing of children and young people undergoing cancer treatment, as well as their families. Do you have the following skills, experience and drive to succeed in this role Find out below. Main Duties/Responsibilities
- In conjunction with the Consultant Paediatric Psychologist, other team members and the wider paediatric multi-disciplinary psychosocial team, contribute to the delivery of a comprehensive clinical psychology service for children and young people with cancer, and their families.
- To utilise research skills for audit, policy and service development and research.
- To propose and implement policy changes within the paediatric oncology clinical psychology service.
- To provide specialist advice and consultation on patients’ psychological care to non-psychologist colleagues
- To work autonomously within professional guidelines and exercise responsibility for the systematic governance of the psychological practice within the service.
- To ensure the highest standards of clinical record keeping including electronic data entry and recording, report writing and the responsible exercise of professional self-governance in accordance with professional codes of practice of the Health and Care Profession’s Council, British Psychological Society, and Trust policies and procedures.
- Diploma or Degree in Diagnostic Radiography
- Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Radiographer
- At least six months recent NHS experience
- Must have Right to work in the UK / No sponsorship required
