The Viator research team is looking for an experienced and motivated Senior UX Researcher to lead high-impact research projects that drive key business metrics and product strategy. In this highly collaborative role, you will utilize qualitative and quantitative research methodologies to scope and deliver research that answers challenging business questions. You will be passionate about understanding our customers and translating their behavior into actionable insights to inform design and product decisions. As a senior team member, you will be a strong advocate for the user and will play a key role in collaborating with stakeholders to shape product roadmaps that align with data, customer insights, and business goals.

Specific responsibilities include:

  1. Scoping and leading UX research, from large-scale generative research studies that inform product strategy to rapid, tactical studies that de-risk development.
  2. Leveraging your creativity and expertise in qualitative and quantitative research to select the most suitable methodology to answer the team's highest priority questions.
  3. Synthesizing a variety of data inputs (UXR, analytics, and VoC) to help product teams define and understand the real problem we're trying to solve/learn through research.
  4. Balancing efficiency and rigor across multiple projects while keeping research aligned with product timelines.
  5. Crafting and delivering clear, succinct, and actionable insight deliverables for stakeholders at all levels. You will communicate, advocate for, and socialize insights in a compelling way. Recommendations will be insight-led and aligned to business goals.
  6. Partnering cross-functionally with product, design, analytics, VoC, and engineering, both when delivering research and on broader pod roadmap items and initiatives.
  7. Collaborating with stakeholders to shape product roadmaps that align with data, customer insights, and business goals.
  8. Contributing to how we develop our research practice, including growing the capabilities of the research team, expanding our toolkit, and creating best practice research processes.

Hiring requirements:

  1. Minimum BA/BSc degree in psychology, HCI, design, communication, statistics, or other related field.
  2. 6+ years of professional applied research experience.
  3. Extensive experience with qualitative research methods (e.g., multi-device generative and evaluative depth interviews, unmoderated testing, usability testing, card sorting, tree-testing, focus groups, diary studies, contextual inquiry, concept testing, etc.).
  4. Experience with quantitative research methods (e.g., surveying) and statistical analysis.
  5. Experience leveraging research tools like UserTesting, dscout, etc., and adaptability to learn and utilize new tools as needed.
  6. Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  7. Ability to ask and answer meaningful and impactful questions.
  8. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  9. A flexible, confident, and tenacious attitude with strong influencing skills.
