Senior Structural Engineer Position Remuneration

Senior Structural Engineer Position Overview

The Senior Structural Engineer will be responsible for:

  1. Undertaking technical and feasibility studies, including organizing site investigations
  2. Developing detailed structural designs and hand calculations
  3. Preparing reports, contract documents, and managing tenders
  4. Providing technical advice to clients and junior team members
  5. Obtaining planning and/or building regulation approval
  6. Monitoring and inspecting work by contractors
  7. Resolving design and development problems
  8. Managing budget and project resources
  9. Ensuring project compliance with legal requirements
  10. Assisting with training and development of the engineering team
  11. Inspecting/supervising construction work on-site under contract
  12. Preparing interim and final accounts, claims, and ensuring practical completion
Senior Structural Engineer Position Requirements
  • MEng within Structural Engineering
  • Chartered or close to chartership with IStructE
  • Experience and extensive knowledge of consulting engineering, surveying, architectural & planning practices
  • Awareness of the latest statutory requirements, technical publications, and guidelines
  • Experience in projects ranging from house extensions to large developments
  • Knowledge of CDM2015, Party wall, Listed buildings
  • Experience in negotiation, supervision, and leadership roles
  • Ability to work within deadlines and budgets on large-scale projects
