Due to the award of significant overseas project work our client is looking for an Offshore Technician with experience with the maintenance and servicing of equipment in an offshore environment. Experience working with ROV, ROV Tooling and Back Deck Equipment is essential.

There will be a requirement when onshore to assist with the onshore operations within the Aberdeen facility.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

The main purpose of this role is to support offshore equipment and operations. Our offshore technicians will be responsible for the safe maintenance and operation of assigned equipment, procedure writing/editing, risk assessments, reporting and any other associated tasks.

All personnel are expected to contribute to creating a positive HSEQ culture when representing CSS and ensure familiarity with and adherence to local HSEQ codes and practices.

Main Duties:

  • Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of all equipment at the worksite in accordance with Company QHSE policies and procedures.
  • Work with company equipment either offshore or onshore independently or under supervision.
  • Operate, function test and carry out maintenance activities or repairs as per project requirements / when required or as instructed.
  • Attend company base to undertake preparation, repair work and familiarisation on equipment and systems prior to and/or upon completion of offshore operations.
  • Prepare task plans and Risk Assessments, specific to site operations.
  • Liaise with site client’s representative onshore / offshore, for planning, organising and executing works and participate in any operational / QHSE meetings.
  • Participate in toolbox talks.
  • Ensure all relevant and necessary maintenance activities are carried out at planned intervals/when required and are documented correctly.
  • Complete required paperwork for work carried out either onshore or offshore. Inclusive of, but not limited to maintenance reports, project reports, material requisitions, timesheets, expenses, in a timely manner.
  • Participate in familiarisation, planning and debriefing sessions for each project.
  • May be required to carry out any other related or associated roles, tasks or duties, which they can be trained, instructed and supervised to do safely and according to changing business requirements.
  • Act as an ambassador for safety demonstrating safe behaviours.

Skills

Good communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to interface with all levels of Company personnel. Ability to work to tight deadlines.

Knowledge

  • High standard of practical application and knowledge of hydraulic / electrical principles and components, basic fault diagnosis along with standard engineering skills.
  • Operation, Maintenance and Repair of Back Deck Equipment i.e. Grabs, Hose Reels, Cutting Equipment etc.
  • Operation, Maintenance of ROV Equipment including Subsea Tooling.
  • Problem Solving — identifying problems and reviewing related information to implement solutions on Hydraulic equipment.

Training & Qualifications

Time served in Hydraulic / Mechanical / Electrical / Electronic role.

ONC / HNC / Apprenticeship / City and Guilds within a Mechanical / Hydraulic / Electrical or Electronic discipline.

Valid Offshore Survival (BOSIET)

Valid Offshore Medical (OGUK)

Experience Maintenance and servicing of equipment in an offshore environment.

Experience working with ROV, ROV Tooling and Back Deck Equipment.
