Insurance Risk Manager

New Insurance Risk Manager role supporting the Head of Riskin overseeing and challenging underwriting risk across the Insurance Group, collaborating with risk managers to ensure a comprehensive understanding of risk. This roles focus is to maintain a consistent, accurate, and proportionate evaluation of underwriting risk.
Responsibilities
- Deliver training and guidance on ERM responsibilities.
- Offer support and insights on insurance risk to the capital team during the annual capital setting process.
- Participate in the investigation and analysis of risk events impacting underwriting.
- Act as an authority on insurance risks within the Insurance Group, offering oversight and constructive critique.
- Conduct focused reviews of underwriting risk themes.
- Provide valuable perspectives and critiques on the implementation of novel underwriting control frameworks.
- Identify and communicate emerging underwriting risks with comprehensive impact analysis.
- Assist in refining the governance framework for Underwriting.
- Evaluate and challenge the effectiveness of risk and control structures across key domains like Underwriting, Delegated Authority, Reinsurance, and Claims.
- Prepare regular and ad-hoc analyses, Risk Management Information reports, and dashboards for various management levels and committees.
- Comprehensive understanding of risk management, encompassing proficiency with risk registers and rating methodologies.
- Technical proficiency in underwriting and quantitative portfolio analysis, with the capability to oversee cross-class risk aggregation.
- Strong collaborative and communication skills spanning all organisational levels.
- Experience operating within Group or multi-syndicate frameworks.
- Effective networking and relationship-building in both virtual and physical work settings.
- Extensive background and proficiency in evaluating underwriting risk.
- Familiarity with Lloyd’s of London governance standards and structures.
