Assistant Fleet Service Engineer

Opus have partnered with a client who are looking for an Assistant Fleet Service Engineer to support on their vessels for offshore wind projects.

The fleet service engineer reports to the Technical Support Co-Ordinator within the Fleet Operations Department. This department is responsible for the safe, efficient, and cost-effective operation of vessels.

KEY DELIVERABLES

› Support the Fleet Service Engineer in ensuring that all vessels within the fleet are technically available at all times.

› Support the Fleet Service Engineer by reviewing each vessel’s Planned Maintenance System (PMS) and assisting with the completion of routine machinery servicing that is above the capabilities of the vessel’s crew members.

› Support the Fleet Service Engineer with providing detailed information of the actions taken/required on PMS tasks and defects.

› Support the Fleet Service Engineer by assisting with the investigation of vessel’s defects and assisting to formulate a plan to rectify and close these as efficiently as possible during your attendance on board the vessel.

› Support the Fleet Service Engineer in providing support to Technical Superintendent in order to assist the crew in performing fault finding and repairs as required.

› Support with maintaining and performing stock check of vessel’s spares within the various stores locations as required.

› Flexibility to accompany the Fleet Service Engineer and attend a vessel at short notice.

› The ability to “work to finish” on jobs that are time critical to return a vessel to operation.

› Support other members of the Fleet Operations department as required to resolve any specific issue, teamwork is paramount.

› Support the Fleet Service engineer with vessel dry dockings and refit works as required.

› Any other duties as required by the Technical Support Co-ordinator; and

› Ensure the company’s high standard of quality and safety is maintained at all times.
