What your new role will entail:
Our thriving, multidisciplinary Water Engineering team in the South West are looking for a Civils Team Leader to join our growing teams within our Exeter, Bristol, or Cardiff office. The team is delivering an exciting portfolio of water programs and projects through long-term frameworks with key clients, including major UK water companies (Wessex Water, Welsh Water, South West Water locally), contractors, and international projects. This role represents a great opportunity to develop your career as a technical team leader, delivering solutions on a diverse range of projects that meet the technical challenges of today and tomorrow.
Key responsibilities of this position include:
- Lead technical delivery of key wastewater and water infrastructure/treatment projects.
- Manage resources of a team of approximately 10 civil engineers to deliver value-added solutions to client challenges throughout the design lifecycle.
- Provide technical expertise to the design team on all aspects of civil projects.
- Check and review calculations, technical reports, drawings, and models to ensure adherence to relevant standards, specifications, and procedures.
- Collaborate with clients and AECOM counterparts to ensure stakeholder buy-in to solutions, contributing to AECOM's wider technical capability and innovative approach.
Being part of the team:
Work closely with civil, mechanical, electrical, and process engineers to deliver a variety of interesting small and large projects from concept to delivery. QualificationsHere's what we will need from you:
- Experience in designing and managing the technical delivery of water and wastewater networks and treatment projects from feasibility to construction support.
- Strong collaboration and coordination skills between teams, clients, and stakeholders.
- Commercial awareness with experience in monitoring and controlling engineering budgets.
- A degree or equivalent in a related engineering subject.
- Chartered Engineer Status (or approaching chartered status).
