We are looking for a Solicitor to join our specialist and niche Court of Protection department, you will work alongside a supportive and down to earth team who are genuinely committed to your career and development.

The Role:

You will be predominantly dealing with health and welfare cases in the Court of Protection, managing a caseload of welfare matters, including applications pursuant to s16 and s21A Mental Capacity Act 2005.

This role allows you to be part of a system that safeguards the rights and dignity of vulnerable individuals. Your work will contribute to improving the lives of those who need it most.

The team deals with a wide range of sensitive and complex cases involving life-changing decisions for vulnerable adults. You will be involved in respectable and ethical work.

Working in this role will expose you to complex legal and ethical dilemmas. This is intellectually stimulating and provides continual opportunities for professional growth and development.

We require an ambitious individual to work with us in our open and collaborative culture, in an environment where you can share your ideas, your voice can be heard and you can get stuck into meaningful, fulfilling work.

You:

You will need to be a Qualified Solicitor with a current practicing certificate, or Legal Executive with experience in applications under the Mental Capacity Act 2005.

Legal aid community care supervisor standard and Law Society Accreditation in Mental Capacity (“ALR”) are not essential but would be desirable.

Our Court of Protection and Community Care team have a strong reputation in this area of work in the Northwest.They are well-recognised in this area of work and have relationships with key referrers of work and other parties.

The team are rapidly expanding, there is a strong focus on the development and progression of our existing employees with a clear structure in place for career development.

Fun Fact: The Partner and Department Manager in this team progressed in the firm from Graduate Paralegal.
