Job Description

Your future team:

The Senior CS&A Engineer will be joining a dynamic Engineering Team delivering critical infrastructure upgrades for one of our Defence clients.

Your missions:

You will be assisting and supporting the Design Manager in the successful delivery of multiple work packages which form the Dock Readiness Project. Delivering infrastructure upgrades for an existing dry dock that will be used for submarine defuels, your role will include:

️ Being responsible for managing the technical aspects of the engineering packages from identification of the need through to handover.

️ Managing one or more technical design packages agreeing project related objectives, managing designer performance, and making appropriate technical management responses.

️ Ensuring the design documentation covers the scope of operations required by the Project Manager and is produced to agreed standards, schedule, and budget.

️ Making sure all personnel are familiar with the hazards and risks associated with the work being undertaken by effectively managing and communicating the Risk Assessment.

Qualifications

Qualifications/Skills to be successful:

We are searching for a candidate with a strong background in Civil/Structural Engineering, particularly in the design and substantiation of heavy civil and building structures. Ideal candidates will have:

A degree or equivalent in a Civil or Structural Engineering related discipline.

Chartered Engineer status and membership of a relevant institution or demonstrable engineering experience and capability of registering with the Engineering Council at CEng level.

Knowledge of architectural design of industrial buildings.

Knowledge of building services design and installation.

Experience of relevant seismic codes for satisfying Nuclear Safety Functions.

Knowledge of construction techniques employed for Nuclear Safety related structures and buildings.

A strong understanding of engineering design and safety practices, especially within highly regulated environments.

The ability to generate documentation, maintain records, and control design/drawing revisions.
