Carbon Markets Senior Pricing Analyst (London)
CIX is looking for a Senior Pricing Analyst – Carbon Markets to help build the future of the carbon/emissions/environmental trading markets. We are looking for an experienced and energetic individual who is keen to learn about the complexities of the voluntary carbon market and to drive the development of new and existing price benchmarks.
Responsibilities:
- Nurture relationships with market participants and communicate with them daily to stay abreast of key trends and their drivers, and to identify new pricing patterns. Use screen and reported data to assess cutting-edge benchmarks in line with published methodologies and global best practice.
- Write and edit detailed and impactful content including market commentaries, analysis and feature-length articles, helping to bring new insights and transparency to this traditionally opaque market, and contributing towards the company’s external communication efforts.
- Stay on top of fast-moving industry developments, new trends in voluntary and compliance carbon markets, national & corporate net zero policies, new environmental commodities solutions, evolving business needs and consumer patterns driving demand for new types of tradable carbon/emissions products.
- Attend and speak at industry conferences – drive external engagement.
- Deeply analyse fundamentals and pricing trends in new market segments to help design new assessments and standard tradable instruments.
- Drive continuous change and improvement in the company’s intelligence products, including product features and new coverage areas.
- Communicate learnings & insights to other functions, leadership team, stakeholders and clients.
Requirements:
- 5+ years’ experience of commodity/energy/environmental markets, in the sustainability or finance industry, market/price reporting or business journalism.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional qualification in Finance, Business, Economics, Sustainable Finance, Environmental Studies, Commodity Trading, Journalism or similar.
