Hardware Design Authority

As the selected Hardware Design Authority, you'll provide technical ownership for development projects whilst ensuring high quality, repeatable designs that meets the agreed requirements.

The right candidate will have a broad range of electronics engineering knowledge, experience of taking a leading role on engineering projects and be an excellent communicator.

Responsibilities for the role of Hardware Design Authority will include:

  • assess product requirements, create technical specifications and define product architecture
  • execute standard design processes: Definition, Design, Implementation, Verification and Release to Manufacture
  • strive to deliver the most pragmatic design solutions to meet the product requirements
  • interface with Project and Product Management - reporting progress, issues and successes
  • risk and issue management, devising and implementing mitigation plans
  • presentation of product design status during Project Phase Reviews
  • defining and coordinating verification testing
  • championing and improving upon development processes
  • working with third-party suppliers to develop custom components and solutions
  • coordinating the resolution of design and integration issues
  • manufacturing requirements and test specification authoring
  • hardware technical assistance to the customer support and sustaining manufacturing teams
  • maintaining awareness of the competitive marketplace to ensure product designs remain ahead of the competition

As the selected Hardware Design Authority, your experience will include:

  • product development background ideally covering both analogue and digital electronics
  • self-starter with ability to demonstrate technical leadership within a product development environment
  • experience of specifying technical requirements and taking a lead role in delivering against these requirements
