BHP Law is a long-established regional law firm combining high quality commercial & private client services with offices in Darlington, Durham, Newcastle, Tynemouth, and Stockton.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Business & Company Law Solicitor to join our team at BHP Law. The successful candidate will have a strong background in UK business and company law, with a minimum of 3-5 years post-qualification experience.

Location: Newcastle, Darlington or Durham.

This is a permanent position.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide legal advice on a range of business and company law matters.
  • Draft, review and negotiate contracts and a variety of corporate and commercial agreements together with acting on behalf of clients in relation to transactional matters including M&A, MBO, capital restructures and group re-organisations.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant UK laws and regulations. 
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients and other professional advisors.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Qualified Solicitor with a minimum of 3-5 years PQE.
  • Extensive knowledge of UK business and company law.
  • Proven track record in contract negotiations and drafting.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and detail-oriented.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven experience in building and maintaining a caseload of previous roles.
  • A strong network of business contacts in the North East / across the UK.
