Infrastructure Engineer – Cloud Architecture – Azure / GCP
Synchro is proud to be partnering with a renowned household brand and recruiting on their behalf for an Infrastructure Engineer with strong cloud architecture skills to join the team.
As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will leverage your expertise in Cloud Architecture to help ensure the smooth running, as well as improve the delivery of Infrastructure Improvement Programmes and full working order of the entire infrastructure estate across this large and complex organisation. This role will involve working closely with a range of third-party vendors and suppliers.
This is a governance / strategic role which requires someone with solid technical understanding of Cloud Architecture with skills in Azure and GCP. Experience with Terraform is also beneficial, although not essential.
This role is to be based out of Sheffield, with hybrid remote working involved with 2/3 days per week in the office and 2/3 days remote.
Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with Architecture: Work with the architecture team to understand the current setup and problems experienced. Advise on improvements to enhance service delivery and resolve repeat incidents.
- Building Supplier and Partner Relationships: Develop strong relationships and collaborate with suppliers and partners when making technology-related decisions.
- Acting as a Central Contact for Service Management: Serve as the central point of contact for technology-related decisions and service improvement plans, including incident management and service restoration.
- Supporting Senior Infrastructure Managers: You may be called upon to support the delivery of major Infrastructure Improvement Programmes, where the Senior Infrastructure Manager will provide strategic guidance.
