Unqualified Teaching Assistant National Teaching Assistant Programme North Tyneside £416.65 - £450 per week Vision for Education are seeking candidates for our National Teaching Assistant Programme (NTAP). The programme is for people who are actively, passionately seeking work within an educational setting but don’t previously have experience in a school. This is ideal for professionals with a background in care, nursing, or previous roles working with children, outside of schools. Vision caters to a range of needs. As a supply agency, work can be flexible to meet the needs of staff where possible and can also lead to contracted employment through schools. We are seeking full time Teaching Assistants to help with the demand that schools are needing. This would be for day-to-day, short term and long term cover at local schools. We can discuss which year groups and types of schools you might prefer/be best suited to, in order to make the most out of the programme and your professional development. About the Programme: Following a successful interview and pending suitability, safeguarding and identity checks, we will work to secure you a paid placement in a school to further develop your skills. We will help you to develop your identity as an educator, catering to age and need preferences as well as areas you travel to and hours you work – we aim to be flexible where possible. Prior to starting your placement, you will be required to complete a comprehensive training programme delivered by Vision for Education and school leaders, which will give you the essential skills you need to work as a Teaching Assistant. Although unqualified, you will be provided with up-to-date, in-depth knowledge of behaviour management, SEND, safeguarding and child protection to give you the confidence to start your placement, and complete it to a high standard. The role of a teaching assistant varies from each school. You may be working to support the teacher during whole class teaching, running small group interventions to support children or working on a 1:1 basis to ensure the needs of all children are meet and that they can thrive. This is an opportunity for practical, hands-on experience to start your career in education.
