Are you an experienced Buyer with a strong understanding of the end-to-end procurement process, looking to take your career to the next level within a fast-paced business?
£40,000 to £45,000/annum depending on your experience, 23 days holiday plus bank holidays rising to 25 days + 8 Bank Holiday with service, Bupa, DIS and Company Pension.
Monday to Friday 37.5 hours/week with either 8-4pm or 9-5pm.
The successful candidate will work cross-functionally, ensuring exceptional relationship-building with suppliers, and a passion for using their initiative with end to end procurement duties.
Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with manufacturing needs.
Source and manage suppliers for raw materials, components, and equipment, focusing on quality, cost, lead times, and reliability.
Negotiate contracts and pricing to drive savings while maintaining quality and supplier relationships.
Collaborate with production, engineering, QA, finance, and logistics to align purchasing with operational requirements.
Monitor supplier performance and address any supply or quality issues.
Maintain procurement records, generate reports, and ensure policy and regulatory compliance.
Support continuous improvement to optimise inventory and reduce costs.
Contribute to supply chain reconciliation and forward planning based on current run rates.
5+ years of procurement experience within a manufacturing environment, preferably within a small medium enterprise environment
~ In-depth understanding of manufacturing processes and supply chain dynamics.
~ Proficiency with procurement and ERP software (e.g., SAP, Oracle). Knowledge of quality standards and regulatory requirements relevant to manufacturing.
~ Demonstrable experience in import and export is desirable.
