An international commodities trading firm have recently appointed one of the most formidable leaders in the energy industry to spearhead a £10bn overhaul of the organisation and accomplish the firm’s mission to secure natural gas and power supplies for Europe via the London trading desk.

The team are looking for a Middle Office Analyst to focus on the Natural Gas and LNG portfolio.

Responsibilities:

• Generate PnL reports for front office/trading desk
• Conduct Independent Price Verifications (IPV)
• Complete exposures reporting for trader to enable informed decision making
• Work closely with the trading team and market risk, maintaining clear communication to ensure efficient performance
• Perform monthly IFRS9 revaluations and differences report
• Support the desk reporting process
• Contribute to the optimization of the desk and improvement of reporting capabilities
• Maintain Product Control reporting frameworks in line with internal and external policies

Requirements:

• 2+ years in product control/market risk/ middle office role
• Competent doing PnL reporting
• Experience using VBA, Python and SQL is ideal
• Experience working in the energy/commodity trading environment
• Front office stakeholder management
• Proficiency in exposures reporting
• Experience with valuations and independent price verification (IPV)
