Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) has an exciting opportunity for Actuarial candidates to join our European Actuarial Team. We are looking for individuals who have an ability to excel and an excellence of character. The team is growing and there are multiple positions available which will be based in our London office. Job title and compensation will be commensurate with the experience and exam level of the individual.

Price individual large insurance policies and be a business partner for underwriters in this process
Support the recalibration of existing pricing models, by analysing external or internal claims and exposure data to enhance proprietary pricing factors and models.
Collaborate with other departments and other regions on the development and maintenance of actuarial reporting processes.
Work with our data compilation team to ensure high quality data capture.
Assist the underwriting community in benefiting from available reporting tools.

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in actuarial studies, mathematics, statistics, or a related field.
Actuarial experience in a General Insurance role preferable. Pensions, Life insurance or related data science experience will be considered.
Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, with proficiency in VBA strongly preferred.
Familiarity with SQL, R, Python or similar language preferred.
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English, capable of communicating complex concepts to a non-actuarial audience.
Effective time management, with the ability to juggle multiple projects at the same time.
