HDI Global Specialty’s focus is on writing agency and specialty insurance business with operations in 9 locations and access to a global network of more than 175 countries through the HDI Global SE network. HDI Global Specialty also enjoys the same financial strength as HDI Global SE.
To underwrite Financial Lines business and develop lead market capabilities in accordance with underwriting guidelines and business plan.
To externally promote HDI Global Speciality to broking houses, creating a network of supporting brokers providing client opportunities within appetite and also respond and develop new opportunities as they are presented.
To develop the branch capabilities to write profitable Financial Lines business
Maintain and interpret management information, provide suggestions on any strategic changes and identification of trends that may affect adversely or positively the account
Assist Head of Financial Lines with strategy, planning and forecasting for the FI and IMI portfolios
Promote HDI externally to enhance brand reputation and become a recognised lead market in this sector
Develop a trusted broker network to provide business opportunities, establish HDI as a viable lead and excess alternative market for ML & FI business and promote HDI externally to clients
Internally create a network that can support the enhanced ML & FI mandate, working with legal, compliance, actuarial and claims to provide the necessary support for these product lines
Identify and enhance the quality and value of processes for your area of work

Project Management
~ End to end project management for functional projects and contribute to any Branch wide projects

Establish themselves as the product specialist for FI especially, mentor and train more junior or non-product specific underwriters about the coverage, risk selection and market
Identify skills gaps and training requirements of the team/direct reports.
Provide the people within your team with the opportunities, training and experience to expand their knowledge and improve their skills
Ensure the performance of the team remains at an excellent standard ensuring that: Performance objectives are set appropriately, performance review forms are submitted to the required standard and underperformance is actively managed
Risks and Controls
Design, implement and maintain process controls to ensure the quality of the output for your area/team within the function.
Recognised market leader in Financial Lines business, with a detailed understanding of the product and market within Financial Lines
Established connections within the Financial Lines market to access the desired business partners and the identified client base
Experience in writing to a balanced portfolio and deep understanding of line size management and risk selection
Desire to aid the development of more junior members of the team and demonstrate best practice
