Immediate start £35k-£40k, School Senior Finance Officer, Lewisham.
School Senior Finance Officer needed to work across two wonderful primary schools in Lewisham.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced School Senior Finance Officer to join a federation comprising of two primary schools. Each of the schools are unique with differing communities, sites, and buildings. Even though part of a federation, the schools have retained their individuality. They are determined that the schools keep this individuality, underpinned by common expectations and purpose.
School Senior Finance Officer summary:
- School Senior Finance Officer Salary is £35k-£40k.
- The School Senior Finance Officer is responsible for the day-to-day supervision of the finance assistant and supporting, where necessary.
- Ensure all financial transactions comply with the finance policy.
- Responsible for completing the monthly reconciliation process and for reconciling the school control accounts to the appropriate expenditure accounts on a monthly basis.
- The School Senior Finance Officer will be responsible for completing and overseeing the monthly financial checklist.
- Responsible for preparing the monthly VAT claim for the school.
- Responsible for monitoring all budgets and preparing monthly financial reports setting out clear explanations on any important budgeting considerations and contribute to the deployment of the budget.
- Responsible for the management of the debtor report, ensuring all monies due to the school are received in a timely fashion.
- Create or authorise supplier BACS payment runs in conjunction with the School Business Manager.
- The School Senior Finance Officer will supervise the presentation of school monies and monitor the procedure for the collection of money and accountability (e.g. for foreign trips, sponsored events, exam fees etc), to ensure it is applied correctly, making suggestions on improvements and make suitable arrangements for banking. Initiate appropriate debt recovery procedure and produce clear financial statements.
- Identify and resolve supplier queries/investigations/duplicate payments.
- Complete and submit financial returns on behalf of the academy and working with outside agencies.
- Oversee the input and authorisation of all school orders, invoices, debtor invoices and payment batches.
