My client is currently seeking a Senior Civil Engineer with experience in the Transmission Sector to join us in any of their offices across the UK. This is an exciting opportunity to get involved in a wide variety of projects, across various technical disciplines with clients across the country. These projects can include HVDC, interconnectors, wind farms, substations, OHL, geotechnical solutions, building design, protection systems, LVAC, FEED, new builds, refurbishment works, connection schemes, etc.
My client has ambitious growth plans and as a result, there are lots of great development opportunities across their business.
You will work closely with other multi-disciplinary teams supporting the FEED design and detailed design for the civil aspects of substation refurbishment/extensions, new-build substations, and other electrical civil infrastructure.
You will be a pro-active individual with knowledge and understanding of the electricity transmission and distribution industry.
You will be engaged in the engineering community and understand how we can drive success for our clients, including understanding innovative solutions and industry best practices.
You will ideally be qualified with a Bachelor’s/Masters degree in Civil Engineering (or related field), from an accredited institution, and professional registration as a Chartered Engineer with the Engineering Council and ICE is preferred. You will also have experience as a civil substation engineer, with a wider awareness of other typical HV civil engineering projects.
My client is particularly interested in candidates who have good knowledge of National Grid’s Transmission procedures and thorough knowledge and experience applying National Grid’s Technical Specification, Technical Guidance Notes, and Design Handbooks relating to civil/structural engineering of electricity T&D infrastructure in the UK.
