Job Description: PPD Chemist Location: Brixworth , Northampton. Duration: Permanent Salary : Competitive Hours: Mon-Fri 9-5pm Benefits: 25 days holiday + BHS + Company pension + Private health care The role is within a leading fragrance company, focused solely on developing fragrances for consumer products. Job Purpose: You will work in the R&D team, responsible for testing and evaluating fragrances in consumer products to ensure they meet quality standards. Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct stability tests on fragrances and raw materials.
  • Maintain daily records of tests and enter data into internal systems.
  • Prepare product bases (up to 10kg) for testing.
  • Monitor stock of formulations and ingredients.
  • Develop new personal care formulas and update in-house libraries.
  • Perform various tests like UV, panel, and viscosity testing.
  • Prepare finished product samples.
  • Cover responsibilities during staff absences.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Degree in Cosmetic Science or a Chemistry-related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in an FMCG development lab.
  • Knowledge in personal care formulation is preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and teamwork skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and internal data systems.
  • Interest in the fragrance industry is advantageous.
