We are seeking a passionate and skilled Junior Web Developer to join our dynamic team. This role is perfect for someone looking to kick-start their career in web development, with opportunities to work on meaningful projects that contribute to sustainable water management.
The successful candidate will work closely with our Lead Platform Developer and the broader team to create engaging, user-friendly web experiences that support our mission. By collaborating closely with our cross-functional team, you will play a crucial role ensuring customer insights are embedded into the platform development process, driving innovation, refining the user experience, and ensuring platform development is aligned with the company’s overall strategic vision.
Develop and maintain high-quality web applications, using TypeScript, Next.js, and React on the front-end, and PHP, Laravel, and MariaDB on the back-end.
Optimising existing sites for performance and WCAG accessibility across a vast array of web-capable devices and browsers.
Contribute to the planning, design, and implementation of new features and functionalities.
Working with users, product owners and team members to understand requirements, and help translate these into development tasks.
Other reasonable duties that the company may occasionally require to support other project and/or consultancy activities.
Experience of using CI/CD systems and version control software such as Git.
Demonstrable web development experience using server-side PHP and Javascript.
Familiarity with the React library, ideally using server-side rendering frameworks such as Next.js.
A sound knowledge of design and design processes & the full software development lifecycle
Strong communication, planning, and organisational skills.
Undertake tasks with a positive attitude, generate enthusiasm and develop an effective team working culture.
Experience of working to deadlines with excellent planning and organisational skills.
Experience of working in the web development field and able to demonstrate continuous professional development in web development and system administration; or a first- or second-class honours undergraduate degree and/or higher degree (MSc/PhD) in computer science or a related discipline.
