Would you like to join a diverse team managing the tools, from concept through to delivery, which enable the successful execution of campaigns in the world leading Orion plasma physics experimental laser facility? AWE has opportunities for experienced Software Engineers to join our team working in our Orion Laser Facility. These roles offer excellent career progression opportunities

As a Software Engineer, your main responsibilities will include:

Creating Software control for laser diagnostic instruments and devices
Writing software that controls sub-systems via HMI's
Supporting the Orion laser team with any software issues
Writing technical documentation to meet customer requirements, as required
Ensuring high quality of the work you deliver
At least one Software programming system / language, preferably using one of these packages :
- VBA,
- Python,
- Java,
- Experience of project life cycles and configuration control
Willingness to learn other software languages including Labview
