Principal .NET Developer - Leading Insurance Company

London - Hybrid (2 days in office)

£90k - £100k + bonus

A leading insurance provider is looking for a highly skilled Principal .NET Developer to join their team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in C# and .NET, prepared to play a key role in developing and maintaining next-generation insurance solutions. This role involves leading the design, development, and implementation of robust software solutions to support the insurance business operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and development of enterprise-grade software solutions using C# and .NET framework.
  • Architect scalable and maintainable software systems that meet business requirements and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with product managers, business analysts, and stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
  • Conduct code reviews to ensure code quality, performance, and adherence to coding standards.
  • Implement automated testing and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to streamline the software development process.
  • Investigate and resolve complex technical issues, optimizing performance and reliability of software applications.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, advocating for their adoption where appropriate.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in .NET development, with expertise in .NET Core.
  • Proven track record of architecting and delivering complex software solutions from inception to deployment.
  • Extensive experience with software design patterns, object-oriented programming principles, and SOLID principles.
  • Deep understanding of web development technologies such as ASP.NET, MVC, Web API, and JavaScript frameworks (e.g., Angular, React).
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS, including knowledge of cloud-native services and microservices architecture.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and debug complex software systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, including mentoring junior engineers and guiding technical decisions.
