As a Barclays Lead Enterprise Architect, you’ll be part of the central Chief Technology Office (CTO) Architecture team, supporting the Risk, Finance, and Treasury (RFT) business domains. This is an exciting role, where you will be accountable for design, design governance and accelerating public and private cloud adoption, to ensure that the bank's enterprise architecture supports ongoing business strategies and technological advancements, whilst working effectively with senior business and technology stakeholders across the bank.

What will you be doing?
• Aligning the group's book of work to deliver the roadmap over a multi-year period, allowing consistency with our wider Barclays target architecture, Data Strategy and Technology Strategy
• Ensuring architecture is thought through front to back, from front office markets to Risk, Finance, and Treasury (RFT)
• Creating a culture of, and technical environment for, continuous improvement in developer productivity and delivery effectiveness
• Working with teams to develop systems that are efficient, resilient, secure, operable, and take appropriate advantage of cloud capabilities and economics
• Leading Proof-of-Concept exercises for new products and technologies as required 
• Overseeing assigned programs, providing guidance to team members and ensuring the implementation of agreed architecture and infrastructure
• Ensuring Risk Technology has a multi-year architectural roadmap that reduces Total Cost Ownership (TCO), simplifies the estate while being responsive to business change 

What we’re looking for:
• Masters degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related discipline
• Previous investment/wholesale banking experience in Finance, Treasury or Risk (Market Risk/Credit Risk), including domain specific knowledge of business processes
• Solid experience with project management, service-oriented architecture (SOA), Domain Driven Design (DDD), TOGAF and other related frameworks and practices 
• Analytical ability, data wrangling, scripting/programming experiences

Skills that will help you in the role:
• Experience with complex technology operating environments, including infrastructure virtualisation, operating systems (e.g., Windows, UNIX, Mainframe)
• Experience with databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, Postgres), storage technologies and (private) cloud (e.g., VMware, OpenShift)
• AWS, Google, or Azure Cloud platform experience and designing and delivering cloud-native architectures either on private or public cloud
• Proficient in at least one coding/scripting language (e.g., Python, JavaScript, Java, C#)
