As part of DCC’s procurement transformation, we are looking for a Senior Supplier Relationship Manager (SRM) who is a leader of people and has experience of working in a complex commercially focused environment. The Senior SRM will focus on day-to-day management of a team of Supplier Relationship Managers, as well as managing relationships with senior stakeholders to secure strategic alignment with suppliers. They will lead the delivery of cross-functional 360-degree strategic initiatives, mutually agreed with suppliers, across value add, risk & safety, performance and commercial criteria.
What will you be doing?
· Lead and effectively manage a team of Supplier Relationship Managers in addition to having full accountability for their portfolio of suppliers with contract value in excess of £100m
· Manage complex stakeholder environment as each supplier could be engaged in multiple strategic programs, and be able to work effectively across all stages of the lifecycle: Concept to Contract, Contract to Market, and Market to Retire
· Keep abreast of new developments in the world of SRM and build best in class supplier relationship management based on industry best practice
· Proactively manage the relationship and engagement with suppliers, embedding trust-based relationships and the right behaviours across organisations. Address escalations across the relationships and influence through an ongoing proactive approach
· Gaining commitment from the suppliers for investment in innovation that will be critical in delivering DCCs purpose over the coming 10-15 years:
- Build forward-facing supplier strategies focused on value-add creation, aligned to Business & Development Plan, CTO roadmap, ESG agenda, Commercial strategy, and associated business strategies
- Lead identification and delivery of 360-degree strategic initiatives mutually agreed with DCC and suppliers across Value Add, Risk & Safety, Performance, and Commercial value for money
· Embed a governance structure across DCC and strategic suppliers with a RACI matrix of roles, responsibilities, agenda, and meeting cadence that encourages right level engagement and supports ongoing delivery of strategic initiatives over time
· Collate and report the balanced scorecard for DCC, own Voice of the Supplier and Voice of the Customer surveys, to identify areas for improvement and develop strategic initiatives
· Organise major strategic events between DCC and suppliers (Annual Supplier Conference)
· Maintain deep knowledge of the supplier’s business performance and market trends, operating as the acknowledged internal supplier expert within DCC, using that knowledge to inform category and programme procurement strategies and sourcing plans and approaches
What are we looking for?
Leadership
· Proven experience in setting stretching goals that align with business strategy with a focus on quality
· Experience in effective stakeholder management to drive commercial benefits
· Ability to identify and translate the scope of a project into an actionable plan
· Line management experience
Technical
· Experience and excellent track record as a Supplier Relationship Management or Customer Relationship management in the Technology or Telco sectors
· Understanding and experience of key practices in procurement/SRM (e.g. category/supplier spend analysis, commercial contracts and vendor performance/quality management)
· Ability to identify, maintain and manage strategic suppliers with constructive relationships
· Be solutions driven, an innovator and be cost and value led
· Proven experience in leading supplier segmentation exercises, developing supplier’s capabilities and building strategic relationships
· Ability to proactively monitor and raise potential supplier risks such as supplier's financial strength, HSE and Regulatory Compliance using relevant tools
· Ability to independently identify and design KPIs to track and measure supplier delivery and improve supplier performance
· Proven experience in analysing trends across multiple contracts with the same supplier and providing guidance to capture maximum value from the relationship
· Strong attention to details and proven ability to work in an open / auditable way fitting to a regulated environment
Interpersonal
· Strong written and verbal communication. Able to communicate effectively with junior and senior stakeholders
· Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
· Ability to influence C-level stakeholders in a complex environment
· Manage complex environment of stakeholders and conflicting priorities across the organisation
