About the role:

Assisting the Head of HR in proactively advising and coaching managers on all aspects of the full employment life cycle. This includes advising on employee relations casework, recruitment, and selection, learning and development and handling some general HR administration, including utilising the HR information systems.

The HR team consists of this role, the Head of HR and support from the HR and Corporate Services Officer. Consequently, the role is wide in scope and is a true generalist role, providing the opportunity to develop in depth knowledge of all aspects of HR work.

  • Support the Head of HR in undertaking workforce planning meetings with managers to establish plans around recruitment and L&D needs.
  • Support the Head of HR, to advise and support managers on all aspects of disciplinary, capability, restructuring and grievance cases.
  • Writing and updating HR policy, procedure, processes ensuring they comply with the latest legislation and best practice.
  • Advise and coach managers on all HR policies and procedures.
  • Lead on all aspects of leave management (special, annual, agile working, flexible working, study)
  • Conduct exit interviews as required and provide reports and insight.
  • Lead on end-to-end recruitment activities and ensure all activities are adhering to TPO policy, producing monthly reporting, insight and trend analysis.
  • Lead on the staff benefits, including in year awards, providing reports and insight when required.
  • Support on L&D/Performance reviews.
  • In the absence of the HR Officer, oversee and manage HR inbox and process TPO post.
  • Undertake HR administration such as updating the HR information system, preparing management information reports, liaising with Finance on preparation of payroll, issuing of contracts and general on-boarding tasks.
  • Undertake other HR related tasks and projects commensurate with grade, development requirements and business need.
  • Provide administrative support to the EDI Group.
  • Working flexibly within the HR team and across Corporate Services as necessary and any other duties that may reasonably be required.
