Head of Sales – ACO Building Drainage

Head Office is based in Bedford, but this is a national role with extensive travel, so flexible with location

This is an excellent opportunity to join a market-leading brand within the building products industry. They have a proud history and an impressive track record of growth over a considerable period of time. The UK business is one the leaders within the group, helping to form strategy for their European parent company and its subsidiaries and even legislation for the sectors in which they operate. They have a broad range of products, including some that are bespoke, across a number of applications (for a variety of commercial, industrial and residential projects), some of which are manufactured here in the UK, others by sister companies and some products bought in.

Despite their success, they are not resting on their laurels. They see plenty of opportunities for growth and improvement. As Head of Sales for the Building Drainage division, you will ensure they are even more successful with specifications (getting involved earlier, value engineering where appropriate and converting a higher percentage accordingly), tracking projects through the supply chain and also lead, motivate and inspire their specification and business development teams. With continued investment in facilities, people and products, they have the foundations in place, along with a supportive senior team.

We’re looking for someone with:

  • people and leadership skills, plenty of emotional intelligence able to develop a great team with long service and exceptional knowledge
  • in such a role with a technical building products manufacturer where specification is the main route to market
  • also have a good understanding of the complete supply chain with contacts within main and sub-contractors: it's important to manage projects all the way through and where possible break specifications with the competition

ACO Building Drainage MD Kevin Bohea has some exciting plans for this division with fantastic growth opportunities - new product categories, growing market share, and further investment in people and facilities. This will lead to the growth of this role.

We don't need specific building drainage product experience and we're flexible with location - the role will involve national travel supporting the team and developing better relationships with the contractors and sub-contractors.
