Working Pattern: Days (37 hours per week) Location: Sellafield, West Cumbria What will the successful candidate be doing: We are looking for Equipment Service Engineers to join our team at Sellafield. The role holder will be responsible for providing maintenance support activities to RPI Services delivered in varied facilities across the site, with approx. 10% of the site's total maintenance, with capability through both internal teams and external contractors. The role will report to the Maintenance Manager for RPI Services. Accountabilities include:

  • Provide first line expert advice and solutions on Engineering/Maintenance issues to increase the efficiency and reliability of the plant/facility.
  • Provide support and guidance to ensure standards are adhered to and achieve knowledge transfer within the capability.
  • Plan and manage scheduled and emergent maintenance activities and co-ordinate the reduction of backlogs.
  • Lead and/or support internal investigations to identify the root cause of plant / equipment failures and share learning and understanding appropriately.
  • Maintain links with external maintenance suppliers in line with agreed standards and expectations to ensure the delivery of contract work on the plant/facility.
  • Monitor the availability and stock levels of spares/equipment to ensure efficient maintenance activities can be carried out.
  • Provide oversight of team capability and where necessary develop and or deliver local training.
The Ideal Candidate: We're looking for candidates with the following knowledge and experience: Essential Skills:
  • Higher level qualification in an Engineering discipline (Electrical, Instrumentation or Mechanical) or relevant experience.
  • Successfully completed a recognised Apprenticeship and achieved an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Considerable experience in the Maintenance / Engineering field.
  • Have demonstrable evidence of planning and prioritising work in accordance with current work prioritisation and planning processes.
  • Have evidence of leading on the delivery of improvements to standards within current or previous roles.
  • Provide evidence of leading on fault diagnosis process through to resolution of identified issues.
Desirable Skills:
  • Background in the maintenance of Radiological Protection Instrumentation (RPI).
  • Experience with contractor management, with the ability to achieve or already holding an appointment as NR.
  • SC Clearance or the ability to achieve this clearance.
