An exciting opportunity has arisen for the post of Consultant Ophthalmologist at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust with expertise in Oculoplastics. We are looking for a dynamic individual to join our team of 24 Ophthalmic Consultants at Queen's Medical Centre working together to make a difference to Ophthalmology services within Nottingham and beyond.
Applicants must be fully registered with the GMC and be on the GMC Specialist Register for surgical Ophthalmology or within 6 months of their expected date of receipt of a CCT at the time of interview.
The Ophthalmology unit offers a comprehensive range of routine and specialist ophthalmic services and the post-holder will be expected to play an active role in the development and provision of the Oculoplastic sub-specialty services for patients at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust.
A full range of Ophthalmology patients are admitted to Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust and the appointee will be responsible for the management of those patients admitted under his/her care.

Please note scope of work to include eyelid, lacrimal, paediatric oculoplastics, orbits, eye casualty.
Clinics including 1:4 paediatric oculoplastic clinic.
Flexible - Unplanned emergencies.
In future may be asked to work weekends and evenings depending on the services demands and direction.
Higher professional degree, ChM, DM, PhD or equivalent.
Full general ophthalmic surgical training with extensive experience of general ophthalmology with sub-specialty expertise in Oculoplastics.
Able to communicate effectively and appropriately with patients, their families and other health professionals.
Specific training in communication skills.
Specific training in patient safety and/or human factors.
Specific training in Paeds Oculoplastic surgery.
Evidence of participation in clinical research.
Higher teaching degree/qualification/training.
