Main Purpose Café Party is a world class artwork cafe that offers a contemporary British menu of high quality and provides an exciting gastronomic food experience. The menu changes monthly focusing on seasonal locally sourced and estate grown produce. The successful chef will produce beautifully presented food that equals the art they are surrounded by Jupiter is for all the family and attention will be paid to younger palates too. The café is open 7 days a week from April to September for lunch and afternoon teas. The rest of the year is for foraging, menu development and seasonal events and building the produce larder. There are also many opportunities for fine dining events and our well known wild dining experiences. Chefs before have been the renowned FHIOR and Barry Bryson/Barry Fish. This is an opportunity for a dynamic individual looking to develop a reputation with a five star venue behind them. The setting ,in a sculpture park is remarkable and you will be part of a dynamic team that is constantly innovating and planning for development. Key responsibilities, tasks and duties Experience in planning and developing menus, produce seasonally driven ,high quality dishes cooked to the highest quality and standard. To organise and control the efficient and economic production of quality food within budget, whilst maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene. Continue to find new and exciting ways to ensure our guests are left with a 5* experience. Demonstrate a passion for food, be ambitious with presentation and exacting about service. Overall responsibility for managing all aspects of the kitchen environment. Oversee the day-to-day running of the kitchen and be able to manage, lead, motivate and develop the team. Complying with legislation of all current Health and Safety food hygiene regulations, stock control and administration procedures. Ensuring all equipment is cleaned, organised and well maintained and that the kitchen meets all regulations including sanitary and food safety guidelines. Work together with your team to produce standards of excellence and aiming to exceed customer expectations, lead and motivate kitchen team ensuring the team maintains Visit Scotland 5* standards Prepare local produce for selling in our onsite shop. Responsible for food inventory needs, stocking and ordering. Managing relationships with suppliers Monitoring portion and waste control in order to minimise food waste. Essential Skills Food Hygiene Certificate HACCP Training COSHH Training Ability to cater to various dietary requirement. Previous kitchen experience in a busy, fast paced kitchen Understanding of food costs and profit margin Great organisational skills Remain calm and focused under pressure, demonstrate a positive attitude at all times. Excellent communication skills, leadership, planning and organisational skills.
