An independent Civil, Structural and Geo Consultancy based in Wigan are currently on the lookout for a Structural Engineer to join their team of around 15 to work on a host of projects in the Residential, Commercial and Industrial sectors.

You will be joining a close-knit, local team working on local projects, specifically on superstructures (up to around 5-7 storey buildings) around the North West of England and you will have good all-round experience of Structural Design across a range of materials, dilapidation reports and surveys as well as retaining walls.

At least 5 years' experience of working in a busy general engineering office looking aver broad range of structural issues.
Ideally chartered Senior Structural Engineer though technician qualifications and suitable experience will certainly be considered.
Experience with the house building and developments part of the industry
Experience in the design of foundations, retaining walls, steelwork, timber, masonry and portal frame type along with other industrial and commercial buildings
Experience in the appraisal of existing buildings and writing reports
AutoCAD, Masterseries, TEDDS Geo5 software
The usual Office 365 elements

The company are a small consultancy, and the work is extremely varied with multiple projects running on a daily basis, so the candidate needs to be able to keep the "plates spinning" and is used to working under a constant workload of varying types.

However, the position will have a salary of at least £37,500 but a greater figure is certainly available to right person, ideally around £45,000 plus benefits including 25 days' holiday and employer contributory pension.
