The Lumistella Company is a global intellectual property company dedicated to bringing Santa’s North Pole to life for children around the world through consumer products, original entertainment and brand experiences. We are home to the most iconic and beloved Christmas brands of this generation including The Elf on the Shelf, Elf Pets, and Elf Mates.

We are looking for a passionate, highly dynamic, team-oriented VP of International Marketing to lead our international marketing efforts as we drive forward on an aggressive global growth plan.

Th e VP will be responsible for developing and executing long-term strategic marketing plans targeted at markets outside of the United States (with a focus on Europe and APAC) and will collaborate with other team members who focus on markets in Latin America, Mexico, and Canada. Reporting to the SVP of Global Marketing, the VP will work in tandem with the VP of Brand Franchise Management to build out a comprehensive global marketing strategy that will drive brand awareness, improve market penetration, and increase revenue growth.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong international marketing background and extensive Europe and APAC market knowledge and will bring a proven track record of successfully expanding market presence. Th e VP will foster relationships with external partners, including advertising, PR and digital agencies, product distributors, licensing agents , partnership and studio partners, research firms, and other global stakeholders. They will also support and foster work with cross functional internal teams including business development, product development, IT, Legal, Compliance, Creative, Finance and People Operations to further the company’s goals.

All of this in service to advancing the company’s vision of “telling the stories of Santa’s North Pole.”

NOTE: While the company is setting up the appropriate structure, this role will be brought in on a contract basis. This role will be based in the U nited K ingdom .

Strategic Planning and Execution :

  • Collaborates with internal leadership / partners to set comprehensive international marketing strategies, including the development, reporting, and budgeting of annual market-specific brand marketing plans and campaigns.
  • Owns the company’s strategic long-term global market expansion by identifying new market opportunities and developing entry strategies tailored to regional needs.
  • Collaborates with Retail Marketing to review the established merchandising standards for domestic retail customers to recommend enhancements and opportunities for international markets to drive sales and brand awareness .
  • Serve s as the marketing lead for all co-branded and licensing partnerships within assigned markets ( Europe, APAC) while collaborating closely with the Director of International Marketing in LATAM, Mexico, and Canada to strategize and execute major partnerships that enhance brand visibility and market penetration.

Consumer Insights and Localization :

  • Utilizes advanced consumer research to adapt products, marketing materials, and campaigns to local cultures and languages.
  • Oversees the localization of company marketing materials and assets in collaboration with the Director of International Marketing including Brand Resource Guide (BRG) updates, dubbing, translation and adaptation needs, ensuring that all international brand activities, partnerships, and content reflect global brand strategies and corporate guidelines.

Performance Metrics and Analytics :

  • Works with the Director of International Marketing and Sr. Manager of Marketing Insights and Analytics to develop and maintain KPIs (key performance indicators) to measure the effectiveness of international marketing strategies.
  • Analyzes performance data to optimize future campaigns and provide comprehensive reporting to executive leadership.

Crisis Management and Compliance :

  • Works with the SVP, Global Marketing to develop strategies for crisis management and brand protection, including managing negative publicity and other risks to brand reputation.

Leadership and Team Development :

  • Leads international seminars, trade shows, and marketing meetings, ensuring alignment and effective communication of marketing strategies.

Brand Ambassadorship and Stakeholder Management :

All of the following duties and responsibilities apply to the assigned territories: Europe and APAC

  • Acts as the primary marketing contact and brand ambassador for international distributors, marketing agencies, licensing agents, and third-party vendors.
  • Ideates with internal and external partners on localized international marketing campaign concepts and assets, including messaging, video and photography and oversees the submission, approval, execution, monitoring and reporting of those international marketing plans for each market.
  • Oversees partner relationships across the international marketing spectrum, ensuring partners are fully trained on the brand and uphold the brand's standards and messaging.

  • Extensive international marketing experience within the entertainment, consumer goods, or licensing industries, with a proven ability to transform strategic vision into actionable, promotional plans that exceed goals.
  • Extensive experience in localizing marketing materials and campaigns to align with cultural and regional nuances of various international markets.
  • Demonstrated track record of strategic leadership and execution in international marketing within dynamic industries such as entertainment, consumer goods, or licensing.
  • Proven ability to navigate diverse markets and cultural landscapes, achieving exceptional results that surpass predefined objectives.
  • Skilled in designing and translating overarching strategic vision into tangible, results-oriented promotional initiatives.
  • Possess a keen insight into market dynamics, enabling the formulation of actionable plans that drive brand visibility, engagement, and revenue growth on a global scale.
  • Extensive experience in tailoring marketing materials and campaigns to resonate with the unique cultural and regional nuances of diverse international markets.
  • Adept at crafting culturally relevant messaging and strategies that foster deep connections with target audiences, fostering brand loyalty and market penetration.
  • Proven track record of successfully marketing and promoting products across multiple international markets, demonstrating an ability to adapt strategies to diverse consumer behaviors and regulatory environments.
  • Strong experience in planning, executing, and attending international trade shows, including development of collateral materials and follow-up strategies to maximize lead generation and brand exposure.
  • Demonstrated success in managing complex projects and partnerships across international markets, including significant experience working with international teams, distributors, marketing agencies, and third-party partners.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of international retail marketing, encompassing in-store presentations, planograms, merchandising, e-commerce, and social media, along with a strong understanding of sales dynamics to drive revenue both in-store and online.
  • General expertise in traditional consumer marketing tactics such as social media, media relations, advertising, and event planning.
  • Team-oriented, self-motivated, inquisitive, and collaborative, with a strong process orientation ; capable of developing and implementing timelines, standards, and procedures.

Education requirements:

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, International Business, or a related field.
  • Preferred: Master of Business Administration (MBA) or Master's degree in Marketing or International Business.

Other Requirements :

  • This is a remote position;
  • Candidate must be able to travel regularly (up to 50% of the time) throughout Europe and periodically to company headquarters in the United States (quarterly); other travel (up to 10% of the time) required to attend trade shows and as needed globally;
  • Fluency in languages relevant to key markets is a plus .
