Senior Electrical Engineer
The Senior Electrical Engineer performs detailed analyses and design as per design basis, project specifications, design codes and standards of an assigned scope of work in a company project, including specific complex deliverables. Requisition Engineer for electrical equipment and responsible for the electrical content for several packaged mechanical equipment in an EPC project. They prepare clear and accurate detailed design calculations and analyses including design reports and procedures. Manage own time to meet agreed deadlines and budgets and develop plans for short-term work activities in own area. Proven technical experience in an EPC project in the oil & gas or renewable industries and able to work with minimal supervision.
Proven experience as Requisition Engineer for major electrical equipment including specification, bid analysis and detail design development.
Proven experience of electrical content for major rotating mechanical equipment.
Proven experience of writing technical documentation including reports, standards, specifications, philosophies
Reports progress of the work and able to be responsible for planning and estimating.
Be fully familiar with the project scope of work, specifications, schedule and all inter-discipline requirements; Maintaining close co-ordination with other engineering disciplines, Planning, Fabrication, Marine, and Project Management Team, as required.
Attend project review meetings, vendor meetings and engineering meetings, as required.
Review vendor documentation, checking for compliance with project specifications and providing comments as necessary.
Check final vendor data manuals to ensure that all requested data has been received and approved.
Assist in providing inputs for actual, planning and forecasting progress reports including associated productivity.
Shows flexibility and willingness to help colleagues during heavy workload periods, holiday or, illness cover.
10-15 yrs in oil and gas with major contractor or consultant predominantly performing detail design
~ Bachelor Degree in Engineering
~ Strong working knowledge of many design techniques and analysis methods, and detailed knowledge of the content and application of standards, codes and guidelines as applicable.
Must have a Bachelor or Master Degree in Electrical Engineering.
Preferably Registered Professional Engineer or member of professional engineering society.
Typically has 10-15 years of detail electrical engineering experience.
Is current on new scientific engineering methods and possesses a technical knowledge of the detail design engineering process.
Is capable of appropriate use of computer applications and other specialized engineering tools.
Proficient in English, both oral and written.
Show flexibility and ensure proper hand-over with regards to managing/learning of current working methods and software applications.
