Securities Services is a key pillar to HSBC’s transaction banking franchise with connectivity to strategically important clients and geographies.Technology will be instrumental in protecting and growing Securities Services and we play an important role in the wider post trade landscape from critically important infrastructure to innovative client solutions.Our ambitions are to be digitally native and data driven, thus the role of Banks and Broker Dealer Chief Engineer, Securities Services is critical partner to evolving our business, Bank and industry.
In this role you will responsible for ensuring the effective delivery of technology services through support and maintenance of the estate, and the design, build and delivery of new services. (Please note that you will still be expected to code)
· Evangelize and influence engineering best practices within BBD and with the wider engineering community.
· Own and evolve the strategy of the Practice Family within BBD.
· Own the governance around standards and tooling across BBD.
· Collaborate with Platform Leads to define missing standards.
· Support the Platform Leads to drive standards and tools across engineering pods.
· Define metrics and monitor efficiencies of the BBD Family initiatives.
· Help address skill gaps in engineering pods by providing upskilling / training opportunities.
· Support the Platform Leads to identify solutions to engineering gaps / challenges.
· Facilitate development of cross-functional capabilities to address common gaps / challenges.
· Promote the culture of We build, and we maintain.
