World Class Aerospace Company based in Stevenage is currently looking to recruit a Mechanical & Electrical Technician subcontractor on a 6 month contract.

Hourly rate £32.00 per hour (Umbrella). 6 Month contract (initially and then ongoing and long-term thereafter).

Mechanical & Electrical Technician Job Description:

To ensure industrial tools and machinery are properly maintained ensuring safety, legal and company specifications are followed and met.

Responds to reports of broken or faulty items, conducting inspections of machinery and equipment and liaising with external service providers and contractors to carry out necessary works.

Responsible in escorting non-permanent service providers around site.
First line diagnostics and interface via phone or email to service providers/contractors.
Effective liaison with operations managers and facility management to resolve difficulties and enquiries.
Carrying out basic maintenance such as Belt replacement/Bearing replacement/Castor replacement/Castor brake replacement or adjustment/Lubrication where appropriate in line with product contamination constraints.
An awareness of safety issues associated with Mechanical Handling Equipment.
The ability to understand and use company systems and software.
Strong level of understanding of Mechanical and Electrical systems.
Evidence of achieved qualification and experience within the maintenance engineering field.
Organise maintenance and required equipment to ensure that operation and maintenance of machinery is completed safely, in the shortest possible time scale demanded by operation necessities.
Reasonable level of fitness (role will require substantial level of movement across the site including vertical ladders to access plant).
A good understanding of operational and maintenance procedures
Electric fork trucks/Tugs/Cherry pickers/MEWPS)
Proficient in working with Microsoft Office software's and Google Tools
To have good underpinning knowledge of contamination risk control
To have good underpinning knowledge of working with and around chemicals
