O&B are looking for a Logistics Manager to join a Tier 1 Construction team on one of their large-scale projects in the Leicestershire area. The main functions of the Logistics Manager duties are to provide robust and accurate support to multidisciplinary functions operationally across the site. The role: The role will require careful cross team co-operation and the person appointed should be able to communicate clearly and plan accordingly understanding priorities and events. The individual will need to confirm with site and business KPI’s including execution of the Operating Framework on site and within the role generally. As the Logistics Manager you will:
- Work with the supply chain partners to develop levels of knowledge and experience, including lessons learnt, to help specify delivery and logistical protocols.
- Train staff and operatives internally and externally in the use of the site logistical software and management tools and ensure key messages are briefed to their teams appropriately.
- Manage the offsite supply chain to meet delivery programme. Linking to the Planners for JIT delivery/monitoring stock levels as appropriate.
- Establish Logistics KPI’s for each contractor and manage and monitor performance and progress against these.
- Review Nett Zero Carbon targets and identify opportunities for further carbon reduction. I.e. Nonfuel based plant.
- Proven experience as a Logistics Manager, preferably within the construction industry and with a main contractor.
- Strong knowledge of logistics principles, practices, and processes, with experience managing complex supply chains and coordinating multiple deliveries simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and site personnel.
- A proactive and hands-on approach to problem-solving, with the ability to anticipate potential issues and develop effective solutions.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and logistics management software.
