Senior Estimator South West of England (Predominately Devon & Cornwall)
Our Southern England & Wales (SEW) Preconstruction team has an exciting opportunity for a talented and experienced Senior Estimator to join their Estimating team. The team is responsible for work winning for Civil Engineering & Infrastructure Opportunities in our Region and covers pre-positioning, bid management, proposals, estimating and planning. We ensure that the business continues to operate and grow, by selecting the right opportunities and developing winning commercial offers and documents to secure contracts; You will be aligned with our framework office in Exeter and offices in Cornwall but there will be a hybrid working model allowing you to mix working from home or from any of our offices, with visits to our wastewater projects / offices throughout Cornwall.
As a Senior Estimator, you will be responsible for the following:
Contribute to optioneering and feasibility assessments, value engineering proposals, liaise with bid and project teams representing a range of disciplines to develop and refine proposals and budget costs through to final target price estimates
Prepare cost estimates from first principles using Candy estimating software
Prepare tender summary information and priced risk and opportunity registers
Prepare and communicate estimate information for bid review meetings and for handover to project teams
Suitable civil engineering project experience in management, engineering or commercial roles
Experience in the Water Industry projects at pre-construction and construction stages is preferred
Demonstrable understanding of common forms of contract
