ROLE SUMMARY: Reddam House Berkshire is a flagship UK school of the successful Reddam House International group. Set in 125 acres of wood and parkland, housed in a magnificent mansion building. Reddam House Berkshire are seeking to appoint a committed and dynamic teacher who can deliver inspirational lessons across all aspects of the Science curriculum. The successful candidate will have the ability to motivate, enthuse and influence our students, to ensure optimum levels of student learning and achievement. The Science Department has 7 full-time members of staff who teach across the age range. At KS4 and KS5 the Edexcel syllabus is taught. We are a busy school, with many opportunities to take part in academic and co-curricular activities and trips, both nationally and internationally. This is a maternity cover position for 12 months. For more information and to register, please click here: KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: To be an outstanding classroom practitioner, using a variety of methods and techniques to engage, motivate, support and challenge students To have an excellent rapport with students and be involved in the pastoral care of the school, including being a form tutor; To ensure that lessons are well-planned in accordance with the schemes of work for each course; To know students well and understand prior learning and progression needs; To set high expectations for the achievement of their students; To set and assess work in line with the School’s assessment policy, providing positive and meaningful feedback which enables students to improve; To monitor students’ performance aiming continually to raise their levels of achievement; To report accurately and honestly on progress in line with the School’s reporting schedules; To participate in the wider life of the School, including trips, activities; THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE: The ability to consistently teach inspirational and varied lessons with the outcome of raising student attainment even further Ability to teach KS3 Science and some KS2 Science as well as GCSE Biology. The ability to teach all three sciences at GCSE and /or/ A level Biology would be beneficial.
